List appliance transport and installation as separate jobs. Bringing a refrigerator into the kitchen is different from reconnecting an air conditioner or working on a gas connection. Decide who does each job before setting the moving appointments.
Follow each appliance through the move
Record the model, the preparation needed at the old home, the transport arrangement and the work required at the new one. Keep the manufacturer's moving and installation instructions with that record. Preparation requirements can differ between models.
KGB's Deluxe Golden description explicitly separates specialist installations, including air conditioning, city gas, satellite television and home-theater equipment, from its ordinary furniture and appliance organization. That distinction is useful when reading any moving quote.
| Stage | Record to make |
|---|---|
| Before collection | Who disconnects or prepares the appliance |
| During the move | Who packs and transports it |
| At delivery | Where it is placed and what access must remain clear |
| After placement | Who installs it and when the appointment is booked |
Give installers the destination details
Send the appliance model and photographs of the new location to the appropriate installer. Confirm the appointment through that provider. A promise from the moving company to place an item in a room is not an installation booking.
Keep fittings, remotes and removable parts labeled with the appliance name. Carry appointment details separately from the shipment so you can contact the technician while boxes are still being unloaded.
Leave room to finish the work
Mark any area that must remain accessible until installation is complete. Tell the moving crew before heavy furniture is put in front of a service point or access panel. Coordinate the elevator or loading space if the technician also needs it.
After installation, use the installer's and manufacturer's instructions for starting and checking the appliance. Keep installation receipts with the moving record, so transport damage and installation issues can be described accurately if either occurs.
The building access guide helps coordinate arrivals. Put separate installation charges into the quote worksheet instead of assuming they are included in transport.
Build an appliance list before setting appointments
Use one line for each appliance rather than a single note saying “installation included.” Record the model, old location, new location and separate preparation or connection tasks. Send photographs of the destination space to the installer responsible for those tasks. A model name alone does not show a narrow service area or a cabinet that limits access.
Match removable parts to the appliance record. A labeled bag for fittings and a separate note for a remote or accessory help the household locate them without opening unrelated cartons. Keep manuals or their official links available outside the moving load.
Follow the manufacturer's transport and restart instructions for the particular model. Do not apply a waiting period, position or disconnection method from another appliance merely because it looks similar. Where the instructions call for a qualified technician, give that work its own appointment instead of assigning it to whoever is present when the truck arrives.
Coordinate placement with the installer
An appliance can reach the right room and still be in the wrong place for connection. Identify any space that needs to remain open and tell the mover before furniture or cartons are placed there. Let the installer determine the final connection arrangement within the booked work.
If the technician must arrive after the household's move, preserve access until that visit. Use a temporary box location that does not block the equipment or the route to it. Keep a household contact available to receive the technician even if the moving crew has already left.
After the appointment, record which provider completed which work. Keep photographs of visible condition at delivery separately from installation receipts and any report of an operating problem. This makes a later enquiry specific: the item arrived with a mark, a fitting was missing, or a connection task remains unfinished. Describe the observation without assuming that transport or installation caused it before the relevant provider has assessed the issue.
