How to Compare Moving Quotes

Put the same inventory, crew schedule, access and finishing work into each quote before comparing the totals.

Compare moving quotes only after each company has priced the same load and the same work. A lower total may cover fewer hours, less packing or no return visit. Start with one furniture list and send that list to every company.

Give each company the same job

List the departure and arrival addresses, floor levels, proposed date and building access. Describe the furniture that will travel, including items that need dismantling. Add storage if the new home will not be available when you leave the old one.

참24's estimate guidance identifies load, distance, crew, vehicle size, access and date as cost factors. Use those fields to find differences between quotes rather than assuming the companies have made identical allowances.

Quote item What to compare
Load Same furniture and box list
Crew Number of people and the work assigned to each day
Vehicle Size, number of vehicles and any extra journey
Access Elevator, stairs, ladder truck and parking arrangements
Finishing work Placement, unpacking, organization and cleaning
Additional work Installation, storage or a later visit

The second day belongs in the price comparison

KGB Deluxe Golden describes two days of work with an additional helper on the second day. A one-day quote and that two-day service are different purchases. Decide whether you want the return visit, then compare the complete scope.

The same principle applies to cleaning. A quote for tidying after delivery does not price the same job as cleaning an empty apartment before delivery. Put those services on separate lines so a useful extra is not mistaken for a higher price for identical work.

Record changes to the original request

If you add a wardrobe or change the arrival address, send the change to every company still being compared. Keep the revised quote with the original inventory. A spoken change is easy to forget when the crew arrives with an older work order.

Before accepting, read the business name, dates, included tasks, payment schedule and handling of additional work together. Keep the quote available on moving day rather than packing your only copy.

The quote worksheet gives you a place to record these fields. Use the Gangnam company comparison to decide which finishing services you want priced in the first place.

Compare a lower total with a more complete quote

Imagine two estimates for the same household. One includes packing, delivery and furniture placement. The other includes those tasks plus a next-day kitchen visit. The difference between their totals is not a measure of which company charges more for transport. First decide whether the kitchen visit is part of the job you want to buy.

If you need it, request a separate price from the first company or add the cost of the provider you would book instead. If you do not need it, compare a package without that visit. Apply the same process to appliance installation, storage and empty-home cleaning. Required work stays in the overall budget even when another business performs it.

Use actual written figures for the calculation. Do not enter zero for a blank field. Mark it as unpriced in your working sheet until you receive the amount, then distinguish the moving total from separately billed services. Keep tax treatment as written on each quote so a tax-inclusive amount is not compared directly with an amount quoted before tax.

Resolve assumptions that could change the job

Look for a different inventory version, an unspecified vehicle arrangement or a missing building-access note. Those gaps can explain a price difference before any negotiation begins. Send a short correction listing the exact facts: the wardrobe is traveling, the arrival elevator is reserved for the stated period, or the appliance needs a separate installer.

Then ask for the revised work and total together. A message agreeing to add an item is useful, but the crew also needs that item on its job list. Keep one accepted version clearly labeled and file earlier versions separately.

Make a final pass through the dates, included work and payment stages. Assign each appointment to the provider responsible for it. The result should tell you not only how much the move costs, but who will arrive, what they will complete and which household tasks remain after they leave.
