Review of my new place of residence: Haskell, Texas
I recently moved to Haskell, Texas, and as a 20-year-old photographer, this has definitely been an interesting transition. Haskell is a small, quiet city that’s quite different from the busy places I've previously lived and worked in. One of the first things I noticed was how close-knit the community is. People here are friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile or a wave, which makes settling in a bit easier.
That being said, the slow pace of life took some getting used to. It feels like a step back in time, with fewer modern conveniences and a strong sense of tradition. It’s a pleasant change in many ways, but I do miss the hustle and bustle of bigger cities. The simplicity of Haskell offers a certain charm, though sometimes I crave the variety and excitement that urban areas provide.
For a photographer, Haskell offers unique opportunities. The wide-open spaces, rustic landscapes, and charming architecture are a treasure trove for capturing stunning visuals.
