Moving to Dunwoody, Georgia has been an interesting experience. As a 45-year-old Machine Learning Specialist, my primary concern was finding a place that offered a balanced mix of work and leisure, and so far, Dunwoody seems to tick most of the boxes.
The city has a comfortable, suburban feel with plenty of green spaces, and I've enjoyed the local parks, particularly Brook Run Park which is great for unwinding on weekends. The daily commute to Atlanta isn't too bad, taking roughly 30 minutes on a typical day; however, traffic can be unpredictable at times, especially during rush hour.
On the professional front, I've found the local tech community to be somewhat limited compared to larger cities, but networking opportunities are available, especially if you're willing to venture into Atlanta. The local amenities are decent, with plenty of grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping options. The Perimeter Mall area, in particular, has a good selection of retail and dining establishments.
Housing here is relatively affordable, though not cheap, and there are good public and private school options, which could be important for those with families.
