After moving to Pleasant Hills in Pennsylvania a couple of months ago, I've managed to settle in and get a feel for the neighborhood. As a 28-year-old ecologist, I was intrigued by the green surroundings and the potential for outdoor activities which are, to some extent, fulfilling.
Pleasant Hills, true to its name, offers a serene environment with ample parks which are good for both leisure and my ecological research. I appreciate the calm pace of the town, and the overall sense of community here is palpable. It's small enough to feel tight-knit but sufficiently serviced to not feel isolated.
Transportation options are somewhat limited, as would be expected in a smaller borough. Owning a car here is almost a necessity, which I find to be a slight inconvenience, considering my preference for more sustainable modes of transport.
The local government is quite active and seems committed to maintaining the town’s charm and safety, which I commend. However, I believe more could be done in terms of ecological conservation and sustainability practices to truly leverage the natural assets of the area.
