I recently moved to Edgewood, a small town in Indiana, and it has been an interesting change. As a 70-year-old Equipment Installation and Maintenance Technician, I find the pace here relatively slower, which suits my lifestyle now. The community is tight-knit, and people are generally friendly, always offering a warm smile or a nod as I go about my day.
The town itself has a quaint, almost nostalgic feel to it. There are a few local shops and diners that provide the essentials, but nothing too extravagant. I do miss the variety and convenience of bigger city amenities, although Anderson is just a short drive away for more comprehensive shopping and services.
Public services run well, but they are limited. The library and community center are nice spots for socializing, though activities geared toward seniors are somewhat sparse. Healthcare access is decent, with a couple of clinics nearby, but for specialized care, trips to neighboring towns are necessary.
