Prepare stored furniture for both the storage period and the next delivery. Start by taking out the belongings you will need before the new home is ready. Then make a list that identifies each piece of furniture and every group of boxes.
Pack for the way you will use the storage

Plan for a delayed handover
Keep the storage contact and the moving contact accessible. If the new home is delayed, update the storage end date and final transport arrangement together. Keep the revised terms with the inventory.

Prepare furniture for reassembly as well as storage

Tell the provider about existing repairs, loose fittings or finishes requiring particular care. Agree who prepares and packs the item. For appliances, use the model's instructions and the provider's acceptance requirements; do not leave preparation decisions until the goods are being loaded.
Before release, update the furniture plan and building-access note for the actual destination. If the new apartment differs from the one originally planned, resend the large-item dimensions with the new route. On arrival, check furniture, cartons and associated parts against the storage list before the packaging is cleared.
