What full service actually saves
The most useful saving is work you no longer need to finish before the crew arrives. A kitchen, for example, contains many separate pieces to wrap and box. Assigning that room to the crew changes the preparation schedule as well as the price.

In the service example above, the crew handles large furniture and appliances. Your responsibility is the agreed smaller-item packing, not an assumption that you should lift heavy items yourself.
Should I unpack before the crew leaves?
Check the inventory and agreed completion work first. Opening every personal box immediately is a different task from confirming that the booked move has been completed.
Test your packing plan on one room
Before assigning all small belongings to the household, finish a representative group of items. Take one cupboard through sorting, wrapping, boxing and labeling. That gives you a practical view of the materials and uninterrupted time the remaining cupboards will need. A room that looks tidy can still contain many separate things to pack.
For example, a household may be able to pack clothes and books during the evenings but have no suitable materials for its glassware. Partial packing can still be a useful request if the kitchen is assigned to the crew explicitly. Describe that division in the estimate instead of assuming that every item smaller than furniture belongs to the customer.

Make a room-by-room handover
Use the same room names on the work order, labels and arrival plan. If the new home has two bedrooms, call them “main bedroom” and “study” throughout. A box labeled only “bedroom” leaves a decision for someone carrying it through the door.
Keep personal sorting separate from the crew's assignment. Papers to review and clothes to donate should not be mixed with goods ready to pack. Put a clear label on items staying at the old home and show them to the crew before loading begins.
At the destination, start with the rooms you need that evening. A bed assembled in the right place and kitchen essentials located on the inventory make the first night easier than opening every carton at once.
